Shower Screens

Custom frameless shower screens finished with brushed brass or brushed gold hardware for a warmer, softer bathroom finish.

Brushed Brass Hardware

A warmer finish for custom frameless shower screens

Brushed brass shower screens are a popular choice for bathrooms where chrome feels too cool and matt black feels too strong. The warm satin finish works especially well with stone-look tiles, timber vanities, neutral palettes and softer bathroom designs.

At Famous Frameless, we supply and install custom frameless shower screens with brushed brass and brushed gold hardware options, measured to suit the finished bathroom rather than fitted from a standard pre-made size.

The exact gold tone can vary between hardware and tapware brands, so we help choose a finish that works with the rest of the bathroom fittings, including mixers, shower heads, robe hooks and towel rails.

Brushed Brass vs Nero Gold

Choosing the right warm hardware finish

Different tapware brands use slightly different brushed brass and brushed gold tones. For our shower screen installations, we offer two main warm hardware finishes: Brushed Brass and Nero Brushed Gold. Between them, they cover most bathroom scenarios and help achieve a close match with common tapware and bathroom fittings.

Brushed Brass

A warm satin brass finish with a deeper gold tone. It works well with stone-look tiles, timber vanities, off-white bathrooms and tapware that has a traditional brushed brass finish.

Nero Brushed Gold

A lighter, softer gold tone that often feels closer to champagne than traditional brass. This finish suits modern bathrooms where the fittings need to feel warm, but still clean, refined and contemporary.

Nero brushed gold is also a premium finish, so pricing is generally higher than standard finishes.

Matching your tapware

We do our best to match popular tapware and bathroom fitting finishes, but brass and gold tones can vary between manufacturers. If you are using brushed brass or Nero brushed gold tapware, it helps to send photos or product links before the shower screen hardware is confirmed.

Ask About Hardware Matching
Shower Screen Layouts

Brushed brass hardware can be used across different shower screen layouts

Brushed brass and Nero brushed gold hardware can be used on a range of custom frameless shower screen layouts, depending on the opening size, tile set-out, door clearance and how the bathroom is used day to day.

The layout is measured and confirmed after tiling, so the glass can be made to suit the finished bathroom rather than being forced into a pre-made size.

Why Famous Frameless

Custom measured glass with hardware selected to suit your bathroom

Brushed brass and Nero brushed gold shower screens need more than just the right colour hardware. The glass still has to suit the finished opening, tile layout, floor fall and the way the bathroom is used every day.

04

Practical installation details

Hinges, brackets, seals, water bars and silicone details are considered carefully so the finished screen looks neat and functions well.

Optional Upgrade
Nano Glass Coating

Easier cleaning for brushed brass shower screens

Brushed brass and Nero brushed gold shower screens are often chosen for bathrooms where the finish matters. A protective Nano coating can help keep the glass easier to clean and reduce how strongly water marks, soap residue and mineral deposits bond to the surface.

This is especially useful for bathrooms used every day, larger frameless panels and low-iron glass where keeping the glass clear helps the hardware and tile detail stand out.

  • Helps reduce water marks, soap build-up and staining
  • Makes the glass easier to wipe down after use
  • A practical upgrade for daily-use bathrooms and ensuites
  • Best applied when the shower screen glass is new

Custom raw brass and low iron glass shower screen in a Point Cook renovation
Featured raw brass project

Three custom shower screens for one complete renovation

This Point Cook project used genuine raw brass channel, angle and flat bar to create three individually designed shower enclosures with 10mm low-iron glass.

Unlike standard brushed-brass fittings, the raw brass was intentionally left unlacquered so it can darken and develop a natural patina over time.

A one-off architectural installation developed from initial sketches, site measurements and CAD drawings.

FAQs

Common questions about brushed brass and Nero brushed gold shower screen hardware, finish matching, pricing and glass options.

Is brushed brass the same as brushed gold?

Not always. Different tapware brands use slightly different tones for brushed brass, brushed gold and champagne style finishes. For shower screen installations, our main warm hardware options are Brushed Brass and Nero Brushed Gold, which cover most bathroom scenarios.

What is the difference between Brushed Brass and Nero Brushed Gold?

Brushed Brass tends to read as a deeper, warmer gold tone. Nero Brushed Gold is generally lighter and softer, closer to a champagne gold finish that can work well with cooler stone, lighter tiles and softer bathroom palettes.

Is Nero Brushed Gold more expensive?

Yes. Nero Brushed Gold is a premium hardware finish, so pricing is generally higher than standard finishes such as chrome or matt black. The final cost also depends on the shower screen layout, glass size and hardware required.

Can you match my brushed brass tapware?

In most cases, we can get a close match, but exact matching depends on the tapware brand and finish. Gold and brass tones vary between brands, so it helps to send photos or product links before the hardware finish is confirmed.

Which glass type works best with brushed brass hardware?

Low-iron glass is often a good match because it reduces the green tint visible in standard clear glass, especially in bathrooms with white tiles, marble-look porcelain or lighter finishes.

Standard clear glass and fluted glass can also work well, depending on the bathroom style and budget.

Can brushed brass hardware be used on sliding shower screens?

Yes, brushed brass and gold hardware can be used on selected sliding shower screen layouts. The available hardware depends on the opening size, glass layout and sliding system required.

It is important to check the full sliding system, not just the handle, because tracks, rollers, brackets and guides may not be available in every brass or gold finish.

Will brushed brass shower screen hardware mark or tarnish?

Brass toned finishes can be more sensitive to harsh bathroom cleaners than chrome. A soft cloth, mild soap and regular wipe down is usually enough for everyday care.

Avoid acidic cleaners, abrasive pads, bleach and strong chemicals, as these can damage the surface finish over time.

Does brushed brass suit every bathroom style?

Not always. Brushed brass usually works best in bathrooms with warmer tiles, natural stone looks, timber vanities, soft whites, creams, beige tones and richer finishes.

In very cool, minimal or grey bathrooms, brushed brass can sometimes feel too warm. In those spaces, chrome, matt black, gunmetal or brushed nickel shower screen hardware may be a better fit.

How does brushed brass compare to brushed nickel?

Brushed brass gives the bathroom a warmer gold tone, while brushed nickel is softer, cooler and more neutral. Brass is usually chosen when the hardware is part of the design feature. Brushed nickel is often chosen when you want a quieter finish that blends with tapware, stone and lighter bathroom colours.

If you are choosing between the two, send through photos of your tiles, tapware and vanity. We can help point you toward the finish that suits the room better.

Are brushed brass shower screens custom made?

Yes. Our frameless shower screens are custom measured after tiling so the glass can be made to suit the actual finished opening, including wall alignment, floor fall, tile thickness and nearby fittings.
