Sliding
Shower Screens
Custom frameless shower screens with sliding glass doors for bathrooms where space, access and clean lines matter.
Sliding shower screens for bathrooms where space matters
Sliding shower screens are a practical option for bathrooms where a hinged door is not ideal. Instead of swinging out into the room, the glass door panels slide along a track, helping keep the bathroom layout more usable.
They are commonly used in ensuites, narrow bathrooms, wall-to-wall shower openings and bathroom renovations where a vanity, toilet, bath or doorway sits close to the shower entrance.
As part of our frameless shower screen range, our sliding systems are custom measured after tiling and made to suit the finished opening, wall alignment, tile layout and hardware finish.
Sliding shower screens can be designed for a clean modern look while still being practical for everyday use, with smooth sliding operation and minimal visual obstruction through the bathroom.
When a sliding shower screen makes sense
Sliding shower screens are especially useful when the bathroom layout does not allow enough room for a hinged door to swing comfortably. They help keep the shower easy to access while saving space around vanities, toilets, baths and doorways.
No door swing required
The glass door slides along the opening instead of swinging out into the bathroom, making it easier to work around tight layouts.
Good for narrow bathrooms
Sliding systems suit ensuites, smaller bathrooms and renovations where space near the shower entrance is limited.
Clean frameless appearance
A frameless sliding shower screen keeps the bathroom looking open, modern and uncluttered while still being practical for everyday use.
Custom made to suit the opening
Each screen is measured after tiling so the glass can be made to suit the finished bathroom dimensions.
Sliding shower screen layouts we can custom make
Sliding shower screens can be designed for different bathroom layouts, from compact ensuites through to larger wall-to-wall openings. The best option depends on the finished opening size, access space, wall alignment and how the bathroom is used every day.
Wall-to-wall sliding screens
A clean option for straight shower openings, with the sliding door running across the full width to keep the bathroom open and easy to access.
Corner sliding screens
A practical layout for bathrooms where the shower sits in a corner and a hinged door would clash with a vanity, toilet or nearby wall.
Bath and shower combinations
Sliding-style screens can suit larger bath and shower zones where the glass needs to contain water while keeping the bathroom feeling open.
Sliding shower screen hardware finishes
Sliding shower screens can be matched with different hardware finishes so the track, handle and fittings suit the rest of the bathroom design.
Whether your bathroom uses chrome, brushed nickel, brushed brass, gun metal or matte black finishes, we can help select a sliding shower screen system that works with your tapware, tiles and overall bathroom style.
Made to measure instead of forced into a standard size
Our sliding shower screens are made to measure, which allows the glass to be cut to suit the finished bathroom rather than relying on standard off-the-shelf panels.
Most walls and floors are slightly out of square, even when it is not obvious to the naked eye. Once a stock shower screen is installed, uneven gaps, awkward overlaps and poor alignment can become much more noticeable.
Custom glass also allows us to finish the shower screen at the desired height, instead of being locked into common stock heights such as 2000mm or 2100mm. It also allows the correct door overlap to be built into the sliding layout, rather than working around pre-made panels that may overlap too much or too little.
We usually complete final measurements after waterproofing, wall tiling and floor tiling are finished. This allows the sliding system to be made to suit the actual finished opening.
During the measure, we check the opening width, wall angles, floor fall, fixing locations and access clearances so the glass panels, sliding track and handle position can be confirmed before manufacture.
This helps achieve cleaner gaps, smoother door movement, better panel alignment and a neater finished result once the sliding shower screen is installed.
Sliding shower screens vs hinged shower screens
Both sliding and hinged shower screens can look clean and modern, but they suit different bathroom layouts. The right choice usually comes down to available space, access width, door swing clearance and how the bathroom is used every day.
Sliding Shower Screens
Sliding shower screens are a practical choice when there is limited room outside the shower for a door to swing open.
- No outward door swing required
- Good for ensuites, narrow bathrooms and compact layouts
- Can suit wall-to-wall shower openings
- Works well near vanities, toilets, baths and bathroom doors
- Allows a bath mat to sit in front of the shower without blocking the door swing
- Recommended minimum opening is 1200mm
Hinged Shower Screens
Hinged shower screens are usually best when there is enough clear space for the glass door to open comfortably.
- Wider and more direct entry opening
- Cleaner frameless appearance with less visible hardware
- Less hardware than sliding systems
- Often easier to clean because there is no glass overlap
- Needs clear door swing space
- May not suit tight layouts near vanities, toilets, baths or towel rails

Frequently
Asked
Questions
Common questions about fluted glass shower screens, privacy, cleaning, cost and suitable shower layouts.
Are sliding shower screens good for small bathrooms?
Yes. Sliding shower screens are often a good option for small bathrooms, ensuites and narrow layouts because the door does not need to swing out into the room. They are especially useful when the shower is close to a vanity, toilet, bath, towel rail or bathroom doorway.
What is the minimum opening for a sliding shower screen?
As a general guide, sliding shower screens usually work best from around 1200mm wide and above. For smaller openings where a sliding screen is still the best option, we may recommend a three-panel sliding layout to help maximise the entry space. You can see this style of design on our Corner Entry Shower Screens page
Can I choose the glass height?
Yes. Custom sliding shower screens allow the glass height to be selected to suit the bathroom, instead of being locked into common stock heights such as 2000mm or 2100mm. The final height depends on the layout, shower position, ceiling height and overall design.
Can fluted glass be used for sliding shower screens?
Yes. You will find a few examples in our gallery above. Narrow reeded glass can be used across different frameless shower screen configurations including sliding shower screens, hinged doors and walk-in shower panels.
Are sliding shower screens harder to clean than hinged screens?
Sliding shower screens have more hardware than a simple hinged screen, including tracks, guides or rollers depending on the system. They are still practical for everyday use, but hinged screens can sometimes be easier to clean because there is no glass overlap or sliding track.
Can I get a sliding shower screen in black, brass or gun metal?
Yes. Sliding shower screens can now be matched with a range of hardware finishes including chrome, matte black, brushed brass, brushed nickel and gun metal and many other finishes.
Do you offer free on-site measures and quotes?
In most cases, we provide initial pricing based on photos, sketches, plans and project details rather than free on-site quoting.
This allows us to respond more efficiently and spend more time supporting active renovation projects already underway.
To help prepare a quote, please email:
• Photos of the bathroom
• A sketch, plan or approximate measurements
• Any access limitations such as stairs, lifts or restricted parking
Once we have this information, we can usually provide a fairly accurate quote and advise on the next steps for measuring and installation.
