A Splashback Made From Your Image, Artwork Or Design

Printed glass splashbacks allow you to create a custom feature wall using photography, landscapes, patterns, textures or supplied artwork. As part of our glass splashbacks range, each panel is custom made from toughened safety glass, with the digital print permanently applied to the rear surface of the glass for a durable, easy to clean finish.

Made To Measure

Every panel is custom measured to suit your cabinetry, benchtops, power points and exact layout.

How It Works

From Digital Artwork To Finished Glass

Printed glass splashbacks are custom made using toughened safety glass and high definition digital printing. Each panel is prepared to suit the artwork, finished glass size, power point cut outs and kitchen layout before it is manufactured.

1

Choose Your Design

Select a landscape, cityscape, texture, artwork or supply your own image for printing.

2

Artwork Preparation

The image is prepared and scaled to suit the dimensions of your splashback, cabinetry layout and visible glass area.

3

Glass Manufacturing and Printing

The splashback is manufactured from toughened safety glass, then digitally printed on the rear side of the panel for protection and durability.

4

Artwork Proof and Final Installation

Before printing, the artwork layout is checked and approved so the final image position suits the glass size, cut outs and visible splashback area. Once approved, the printed glass is manufactured and installed on site.

Image Requirements

Better Quality Images Produce Better Printed Results

Printed glass splashbacks are viewed up close, so image quality plays a major role in the final result. High resolution photography, professional artwork and clean digital files usually produce the sharpest and most detailed finish.

Larger images are usually better, especially for wide kitchen splashbacks where the artwork needs to scale across a larger area without losing detail.

Common file formats such as JPEG, TIFF, PDF and Adobe Illustrator files can often be used, depending on the artwork supplied. We take care of the image preparation, scaling and cropping before printing.

If you already have an image or concept in mind, send it through and we can advise whether it is suitable for large format glass printing.

Printed Splashback FAQ

Frequently
Asked
Questions

Common questions about printed glass splashbacks, custom images, artwork preparation, heat resistance, cooktop use, pricing, installation and quoting.

Can I use my own photo for a printed splashback?

Yes. Many customers supply their own photography, artwork or digital design for a printed glass splashback. The image needs to be suitable for large format printing, especially for wider kitchen splashbacks where low resolution files can start to look soft or pixelated.

The best starting point is to send the original image file rather than a screenshot or compressed social media version. We can then check whether the file is suitable, whether it needs cropping and how it will sit across the finished splashback area.

Are printed glass splashbacks heat resistant?

Yes. Printed glass splashbacks are manufactured using toughened safety glass designed for kitchens, laundries and other interior applications.

Care still needs to be taken with large rear burners positioned close to the wall, particularly with some insert cooktops. Excessive direct heat can still mark or damage the finish if the cooktop clearances are not suitable.

Will the print fade over time?

No, the digital print is applied to the rear side of the glass, so the image is protected behind the glass once installed. This helps protect the artwork from moisture, cleaning and everyday wear.

The front face cleans like normal glass. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh cleaners, especially around exposed edges, power point cut outs and silicone lines.

Can printed splashbacks be installed behind cooktops?

Yes. We use 6mm toughened glass splashbacks designed for kitchen applications. The image is printed directly onto the rear side of the glass rather than being applied as a vinyl film, which helps prevent issues such as shrinking, lifting or warping from heat over time.

Cooktop position, burner location, wall clearances and manufacturer requirements still need to be checked before installation, especially where large burners sit close to the splashback.

What image quality do I need for a printed splashback?

The larger the splashback, the better the image file needs to be. Original camera files, high resolution artwork or print ready design files are usually best.

Phone photos can sometimes work well if they are sharp, well lit and supplied at full size. Screenshots, small web images and heavily compressed files are usually not suitable for a clean printed result.

Can the image be cropped to suit my kitchen?

Yes. Most printed splashbacks need some cropping or artwork adjustment so the image works with the actual splashback shape, bench height, overhead cupboards, power points and cooktop position.

Long narrow splashbacks usually suit panoramic images, landscape scenes, textures or custom artwork better than tightly framed photos where important details sit near the edges.

What happens if I do not like how the image looks once it is printed?

Before manufacture, the image layout needs to be checked and approved. This is where cropping, positioning and the overall artwork direction can be confirmed before the glass is printed.

Once the splashback has been printed and toughened, changes cannot usually be made without manufacturing a new panel. That is why the artwork check is an important step, especially for custom photos, feature images and wider kitchen splashbacks.

Can a printed splashback be made in sections?

Yes. Printed glass splashbacks can be made in separate sections where a single piece of glass is not practical because of size, access, handling or the kitchen layout.

The join position needs to be planned carefully so it looks intentional and does not cut through the most important part of the image. Wider splashbacks, long runs and kitchens with multiple power points often need this checked before the artwork is finalised.

Do you install printed splashbacks across Melbourne?

Yes. We install custom printed glass splashbacks across Melbourne west, north and inner Melbourne suburbs.

If you are unsure whether we service your area, send through your suburb and project details and we can let you know before quoting.

Do you offer free on site measures and quotes?

We usually provide initial pricing from photos, plans, rough measurements and project details first. This lets us turn around useful pricing faster and focus site visits on projects that are ready to measure.

To help prepare a quote, please send:

  • Photos of the kitchen, laundry or bathroom
  • A sketch, plan or approximate measurements
  • The number of power point cut outs required
  • Any additional cut outs or installation details you are aware of
  • Your preferred image, artwork or design direction, if known
  • Any access limitations such as stairs, lifts or restricted parking

Once we have this information, we can usually provide a fairly accurate quote and advise on the next steps for final measure, artwork preparation and installation.
