Custom colour glass splashbacks made to measure in Melbourne

A clean, modern alternative to tiles. Our painted glass splashbacks are custom measured, colour matched and installed across Melbourne kitchens, laundries and renovation projects.

Clean, modern and practical

Why Choose Painted Glass Splashbacks?

Painted glass splashbacks give your kitchen or laundry a smooth, easy-clean finish without grout lines. They work well in modern renovations, new builds and simple kitchen updates where you want a clean look without making the space feel too busy.

1

Easy to clean

No grout lines, no tile joins and fewer places for grease and marks to build up. A quick wipe is usually enough to keep the glass looking clean.

2

Custom colour matched

Choose a colour to suit your cabinetry, benchtop, wall paint or tapware. Neutral whites, soft greys and deeper feature colours can all work well.

3

Made to measure

Each splashback is measured to suit your kitchen layout, including power points, rangehood areas, windows and tricky return sections.

4

Modern finish

The smooth glass surface helps kitchens feel lighter, cleaner and more refined without the visual clutter of small tiles or heavy patterns.

Glass vs tiles

Why Many Melbourne Renovations Choose Glass Over Tiles

Tiles still suit some kitchens, but painted glass is often chosen when the goal is a cleaner, more seamless finish with less maintenance.

Traditional Tile Splashbacks
  • More joins, grout lines and edges to maintain over time.
  • Can look busy in smaller kitchens or tighter laundry spaces.
  • Grout can discolour, stain or require extra cleaning.
  • Patterns and tile choices may date faster as styles change.
  • Still a good option where texture or a handmade look is wanted.
Glass options

Clear Glass vs Starphire Glass

All of our painted splashbacks are made using 6mm toughened safety glass. Depending on the colour and finish you are trying to achieve, we offer both standard clear glass and low iron Starphire glass.

Standard clear glass edge

Standard Clear Glass

Standard clear glass has a natural green tint visible through the edge of the glass. It works especially well with darker colours and deeper splashback tones.

Often chosen for darker greys, charcoal tones, blues and stronger feature colours.

Painted Splashback FAQ

Frequently
Asked
Questions

Common questions about painted glass splashbacks, colour matching, installation and maintenance.

Can painted glass splashbacks be colour matched?

Yes. Splashbacks can often be matched to cabinetry, benchtops, wall colours or reference samples. Neutral whites, warm greys and soft earthy tones are especially popular in Melbourne kitchen renovations.

Are painted glass splashbacks heat resistant?

Yes.  Our painted splashbacks are manufactured using toughened safety glass designed for kitchens, laundries and other interior applications.

However, care still needs to be taken with large rear burners positioned close to the wall, particularly with some insert cooktops, as excessive direct heat may cause a burn mark.

Are painted glass splashbacks easy to clean?

Yes. Because there are no grout lines or textured surfaces, painted glass is very easy to wipe down and maintain with standard glass cleaner and a microfibre cloth.

Can painted glass splashbacks go behind cooktops?

Yes. We only use 6mm toughened glass splashbacks designed for kitchen applications. Toughened glass is heat resistant and suitable for use behind most cooktops, although correct clearances and installation requirements still need to be followed depending on cooktop position.

What is Starphire glass?

Starphire is a low iron glass with reduced green tint compared to standard clear glass. It is often chosen where a cleaner, brighter or more accurate colour result is preferred.

Do you install splashbacks across Melbourne?

Yes. We install custom glass splashbacks throughout Melbourne, particularly across the western, northern and north-western suburbs.

Many of our projects are completed as part of kitchen renovations, laundry upgrades and bathroom renovations in both existing homes and new builds.

If you’re unsure whether we service your area, feel free to contact us.

Do you offer free on-site measures and quotes?

In most cases, we provide initial pricing based on photos, sketches, plans and project details rather than free on-site quoting.

This allows us to respond more efficiently and spend more time supporting active renovation projects already underway.

To help prepare a quote, please email:

• Photos of the kitchen, laundry or bathroom
• A sketch, plan or approximate measurements
• The number of power point cut-outs required
• Any additional cut-outs or installation details you are aware of
• Your preferred splashback colour or finish, if known
• Any access limitations such as stairs, lifts or restricted parking

Once we have this information, we can usually provide a fairly accurate quote and advise on the next steps for measuring and installation.
