At Famous Frameless, we custom measure and install frameless shower screens throughout Abbotsford, Richmond, Collingwood, Fitzroy, Fitzroy North, Clifton Hill, Fairfield, Cremorne and Burnley.
Many of the City of Yarra bathrooms we work in include wider openings, larger ensuites, double shower areas, niches and layouts where door clearance needs to be considered carefully. We design each screen to suit the finished bathroom, rather than trying to make a standard panel fit the space.
Across the City of Yarra we work in renovated terraces, apartments, warehouse conversions and modern homes, so every screen is measured to suit the finished tile lines, wall angles, shower base and overall bathroom style.
Every screen is measured after tiling and manufactured using 10mm toughened safety glass with quality hardware finishes designed for long term durability and everyday use.

What to expect during a frameless shower screen installation in the City of Yarra
Every bathroom renovation is slightly different, however most frameless shower screen projects in City of Yarra follow a similar process from final tiling through to installation and finishing.
Bathroom works are completed
Final measurements are usually completed once waterproofing, floor tiling and wall tiling have been finished.
Site measure is carried out
We inspect wall alignment, floor levels, fixing locations and access clearances before the glass is ordered.
Glass layout and hardware are confirmed
The shower screen configuration, door opening direction, hardware finish and glass type are selected to suit the bathroom layout and everyday use.
Custom glass is manufactured
Each frameless shower screen is custom manufactured to suit the exact finished bathroom dimensions and selected layout.
Frameless shower screen is installed
The glass and hardware are professionally installed, aligned and silicone sealed to achieve a clean and durable finished result.
Cleaning and maintenance guidance
We provide practical maintenance advice to help keep the glass, hardware and silicone looking cleaner and easier to maintain over time.
Nano glass coating for easier everyday cleaning
For clients wanting to reduce ongoing maintenance, we can apply a protective Nano coating to the shower screen glass after installation.
The coating helps water, soap residue and mineral deposits sit less aggressively on the glass surface, making routine cleaning quicker and easier over time.
- Helps reduce water spotting and staining
- Makes glass easier to wipe down and maintain
- Useful in areas with harder water
- Best applied when the shower screen is new

FAQs
Practical answers for City of Yarra homeowners planning a bathroom renovation, ensuite update or replacement shower screen.
Still not sure what will work in your City of Yarra bathroom?
Send through a few photos, rough measurements or plans and we can help recommend a practical shower screen layout before the glass is ordered.
Get A QuoteWhen should the shower screen be measured?
Final measurements should be taken after the wall and floor tiles are complete. This lets us check the finished opening, wall alignment, floor fall, tile lines and door clearance before the glass is ordered.
You can still contact us earlier with plans, photos or rough measurements so we can help guide the layout before final measure.
How long does manufacture and installation usually take?
After final measure, manufacture and installation is usually completed within 6 to 10 working days.
Specialty glass, custom hardware finishes, full height layouts and more detailed configurations can take longer, so it is best to get in touch before the renovation reaches the final stage.
What shower screen layout works best in an ensuite?
The best layout depends on the opening, vanity position, toilet clearance, shower head location and available door swing.
Sliding shower screens and corner entry shower screens can work well where space is tight. A hinged frameless door can also work when the surrounding fixtures allow enough clearance.
Do frameless shower screens stop water from escaping?
Frameless screens help control water, but they are not fully sealed like a framed enclosure. Small clearances are needed so doors can open and close properly.
Good water control comes from the right panel size, floor fall, shower head position, neat sealing and suitable door gaps. Where needed, seals and a small water bar can help direct water back into the shower area.
Can you match my tapware and bathroom fittings?
Generally, yes. We offer a range of shower screen hardware finishes designed to coordinate with common tapware and bathroom accessory ranges.
Options include chrome, matt black, brushed brass, brushed nickel and gunmetal. Exact finishes can vary between brands, but we can usually get very close to the selected fittings.
Do frameless shower screens need much maintenance?
Frameless shower screens are low maintenance. Regular glass cleaning and occasional wiping of the seals and hardware is usually enough.
If anything needs adjusting during the warranty period, we can come back out and sort it. Seals and silicone are consumable items, so they are not covered under warranty as they wear with normal use.
Can you replace an old framed shower screen?
Yes. Older framed or semi frameless shower screens can often be replaced with a cleaner custom glass layout.
We remove the old screen, check the tiled opening and assess wall condition, fixing holes, tile edges, shower base type and clearances before confirming the best replacement option.
