If you’re renovating a bathroom in Coburg or replacing an old framed shower screen, a frameless shower screen can create a cleaner, more modern finish without making the room feel smaller.
At Famous Frameless, we supply and install custom frameless shower screens throughout Coburg and nearby suburbs including Brunswick, Pascoe Vale, Preston, Thornbury and Reservoir.
Each screen is measured after tiling and manufactured to suit the exact layout of your bathroom, using 10mm toughened safety glass and quality hardware finishes.
Measured after tiling for a cleaner fit
Every shower screen we install in Coburg is custom measured and manufactured.
This helps achieve precise fit between walls, minimal gaps, smooth door operation and neater silicone work.
Because frameless glass needs accurate tolerances, we normally take final measurements once wall and floor tiles are completed.
Match your tapware and bathroom fittings
We offer a wide range of shower screen hardware finishes so the glass can integrate naturally with the rest of the bathroom.
Whether your bathroom uses chrome, brushed nickel, brass, gunmetal or darker architectural finishes, we can usually match closely with popular tapware brands and bathroom fittings.

Nano glass coating for easier cleaning
For clients who want to reduce ongoing cleaning, we can apply a protective Nano coating to the shower screen glass.
The coating helps water, soap residue and mineral deposits sit less aggressively on the glass surface, making routine cleaning easier.
- Helps reduce water staining
- Makes glass easier to maintain
- Useful for hard-water areas
- Best added when the screen is new

Common questions about frameless shower screens, installation and maintenance..
How long does it take to manufacture a frameless shower screen?
After final measurements are completed, manufacturing and installation is typically finished within 6–10 working days. If you’re working to a tight timeline, let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly and attend as soon as the bathroom is ready to be measured.
Do frameless shower screens leak?
When installed correctly, with proper seals and adequate floor falls in the shower base, frameless shower screens are designed to keep water contained within the shower area.
We measure and manufacture our shower screens with minimal clearances to reduce the chance of water escaping. Doors are fitted with PVC seals, and in most cases we also install a small water bar to help direct water back into the shower.
While frameless shower screens are very effective at containing water, they cannot be completely watertight due to the small clearances required for the door to operate properly.
What is the standard height for a frameless shower screen?
The most common height for a frameless shower screen is around 2000–2100mm. This works well in bathrooms with standard ceiling heights of 2400–2500mm, providing good water containment while maintaining a balanced look.
However, all of our shower screens are made to order, so the height can be customised to suit the bathroom layout. In some cases the glass may be adjusted to line up with window heights, door openings, tile lines or other design features.
At what stage of the bathroom renovation should a frameless shower screen be measured and installed?
Final measurements should be taken after wall tiles are completed. This ensures the glass is manufactured to the finished opening and fits properly with the correct clearances.
Can you match my tapware and bathroom fittings?
Generally – yes. We offer a wide range of hardware finishes designed to match popular tapware brands.
Our finishes are selected to closely align with brands such as Meir, Nero and ABI Interiors, making it easier to achieve a consistent look across your bathroom.
Common finishes include chrome, matt black, brushed brass and brushed nickel, along with many other options.
In most cases, we can achieve a very close match to your existing fittings.
Send us your measurements or a photo of your bathroom — we’ll guide you on the best option and provide a quote.
